Accolades & School News
Students in the English as a New Language Stand Alone classes at North Middle School participated in the ENL Storytelling Event on April 1, 2025. They wrote personal narratives about courage, practiced memorizing their stories, and told their stories live without using any notes. It was a great achievement for all the ENL students.
In March, the NMS Theatre Company took the stage for 2 performances of The Lightning Thief, The Percy Jackson Musical. They performed for (nearly) sold out crowds each night. Two secret guest performers, Mr. Dalton and Mr. Parker, played DJ Cerberus, a 3-headed dog. This was a surprise for all in attendance as well as the cast and crew as we kept their identifies secret until they revealed their identity at bows! Congratulations to the cast and crew on an amazing job well done!
8th grader Brian Liu will once again represent North Middle once again at the Scripps National Spelling Bee Regional Competition. 7th Grader, Victor Yang placed second. Both boys are previous NMS Spelling Bee Champs AND participants in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C.
North Middle 8th Graders capped off their 10-week Dancing Classrooms unit in their Physical Education classes with an amazing performance at the Dancing Classrooms Culminating Event in November.
North Middle School's Hair for Hope Event supporting Breast Cancer Awareness and Relay for Life was a huge success! Relay for Life is proud to share that Hair for Hope and our "Donut Worry Be Hopeful" donut sales raised over $1800 for the month of October! The proceeds will be added to our overall donation to Relay for Life.
Our 8th grade students had a blast on their field trips to Adventure Park of Long Island. They spent the day ziplining, climbing, and conquering challenges together.
