North Middle School seventh-grader Stanley Kao is the winner of a nationwide design contest for the 2024 Achilles Kids International Marathon program. A poster featuring Stanley’s artwork has been distributed to more than 140 schools across the United States and Italy that are participating in this year’s program.

North Middle School sixth grader Zelong (Victor) Yang came in second place at the 2024 Scholarskills Long Island Westchester Scripps Spelling Bee on March 21 and advanced to the National Scripps Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C.

North Middle School eighth-grader Takoua King is a first-place winner in the middle school category of the 2024 Friedlander Upstander Awards, sponsored by the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center (HTMC) of Nassau County and the Claire Friedlander Family Foundation.

The 2023-2034 school year was a year of winning for the NMS Math Team. To recap, while some schools are fortunate to win awards in one, two, or three competitions, the North Middle Math Team won 5 awards!

On March 26, 2024, the Great Neck Board of Education recognized 107 North Middle School students for contributing to the quality of life at their school.
